Over the weekend, we visited residents of Pasir Ris St 21.
Many residents we spoke to said they have had to tighten their belts during this cost of living crisis.
While wages have remained somewhat stagnant in recent years, the cost of daily essentials, utilities, and basic services has been steadily rising.
The situation has been worsened by tax hikes.
We emphatise because we too are just Common Singaporeans.
This is why the SDA has been calling for a cut in extravagant government spending on unnecessary vanity projects.
The billions of dollars saved can be used to at least delay tax hikes until the present storm has passed, or increase the size of aid packages for the current sandwiched generations.
We will continue to press for a reform in the use of government resources.
