SDA New Year 2022

SDA’s New Year Message 2022

Dear Friends,

Thank you for making 2021 a heartening year for the SDA.

It was a tough year indeed for many of us Common Singaporeans.

With this in mind, SDA members and volunteers arranged more food and essential items distribution drives so that we could help more needy families.

We also stepped up our outreach activities, especially through online chats due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to continue engaging Pasir Ris-Punggol residents, understanding their concerns, and seeking their suggestions.

We are happy that so many people, from Sumang to Loyang, have been warm and welcoming.

Despite these tough times, Common Singaporeans are still hanging tough.

This comes as no surprise.

We have always believed that the creativity, drive and willingness to “pia” is what pushes us on to overcome all hardships and thrive.

What we are upset to see is the struggle us Common Singaporeans have to unnecessarily suffer due to irresponsible government policies.

From our chats with residents, we often hear this same phrase, “They don’t know what they are doing.”

We will discuss each of these issues in our next articles.

For now, if you are facing hard times, please reach out to us.

We will do our best to help, in the spirit of gotong royong.

Let’s hope that 2022 will be a better year for all of us Common Singaporeans, and not just the elite.

Let’s help one another and prosper together.

And with this, I wish a Happy New Year to you and all at home.

Your friend,

Desmond Lim
Chairman
Singapore Democratic Alliance
