For many, the steep rise in cost of living is giving them a big headache.
Especially, the increase in prices of hawker food and other basic goods.
It’s no wonder – as the SDA’s Kopi O Price Index shows, the price of a cup of Kopi O has risen by 30% in the last 2 years.
The salaries of Common Singaporeans have definitely not risen as quickly during this time.
The SDA has proposed plans to reduce cost of living. One of these is to cut irresponsible government spending.
The billion dollars and more saved could be devoted to helping struggling Singaporean families during the present cost of living crisis, while boosting the local economy.
