Getting
immigration right

A cut-throat, materialistic society -

that's what the PAP-led government is building through irresponsible immigration policies

A problem of policy,
not people

Foreigners are good for Singapore and, like us, they too are seeking a better life for themselves.

But irresponsible immigration policies by the PAP-led government has led to an excessive influx of foreigners.

Because of this, there is great tension.

Singaporeans suffer and foreigners feel discriminated against.

It is a problem of policy, not people!

Stealing lunches

After the floodgates were opened, Employment Pass numbers and S Pass numbers rose steadily.

What happened to locals?

Local PMETs face the highest rate of retrenchment among workers in Singapore.

And, a majority of local PMETs are unable to re-enter the workforce.

During this time of intense competition, our Prime Minister remarks that "You must make sure you steal somebody else's lunch."

How’s that for leadership!

The PAP-led government tells us that Singaporeans are not trained to take up specialised jobs that foreigners can do.

Isn’t that just passing the buck across ministries to blame our education system?

What happened to nation-building and good jobs for Singaporeans?

The PAP-led government’s bad policies on immigration are driving social division.

The tension is felt even within ethnic groups.

This is threatening to tear apart 50 years of nation-building and social harmony.

Singaporeans have voiced their frustration at policies which appear to favour foreigners.

What the PAP-led government has done is turn a deaf ear.

Maybe the ivory tower is too high and the cries of average Singaporeans below cannot be heard.

A problem of policy,
not people

The SDA proposes stricter qualifying criteria regulations for local firms that seek to hire foreign working professionals.
We will press for increased quotas on the number that a company can hire, and that these foreign working professionals come from universities on a Singapore-accredited list.
At the same time, we will demand tighter labour audits on companies, to ensure that rogue firms do not get away with hiring phantom local staff to boost their army of cheap foreign labour.
