Our History
Service before Self
The SDA is happy to be serving residents in Pasir Ris and Punggol for over 14 years.
Our Roots
The SDA is the first and only official coalition of opposition political parties in Singapore, founded in 2001 with a mission to improve the way that political leaders serve Singaporeans.
The coalition was founded by former SPP chairman the late Mr Sin Kek Tong, SPP Secretary-General Mr Chiam See Tong, former PKMS sec-gen Mohd Rahizan, former NSP sec-gen Mr Yip Yew Weng, SJP chairman Aminuddin bin Ami, and Dato Seri Desmond Lim Bak Chuan who was then the SPP assistant sec-gen.
Mr Chiam became the SDA’s first-ever Member of Parliament when he was elected into office in 2001.
The SDA is presently led by Dato Seri Desmond Lim Bak Chuan – an engineer and philantropist.
Over the Years
The SDA has been serving residents in the Pasir Ris and Punggol estates for the past 14 years.
We hold regular charity donation drives and food distribution programmes to help needy residents.
SDA members also walk the ground to listen to residents, understand their concerns, and help them with their problems.
Into the Future
The SDA wants to represent residents of Pasir Ris and Punggol in parliament, so that their concerns can be heard and addressed on a national scale.
We want to address issues that us Singaporeans hold dear to our hearts – a broken CPF retirement scheme, rising cost of living, irresponsible immigration policies, and growing social inequality.
